Just wanted to share a success story with all those who have been reading Dr. Hawkins' latest book.
For the past week I was visiting a very close friend who had recently added a pet cat to her family (Named 'August' after the main character in the film 'August Rush'). Having had a mild cat allergy for quite a few years, I thought it to be an excellent opportunity to cancel the allergic belief systems and consciousness patterns that made it possible.

Since healing requires a field of unconditional love at LoC 540, I made a conscious decision to love the cat. The more aware I could be of the cat at all times, the easier it was to extend love to it. Whenever I would feel symptoms coming on, they could be disappeared by resetting my loving position toward the cat(and by welcoming the experience of the symptoms without labelling the sensations). Literally, within minutes of recognizing the symptoms and choosing to extend love to the Kitty, the symptoms would subside. Whenever I was not assuming a loving posture toward the Kitty, the symptoms would come back in waves. When the Kitty chewed up some cables on some electronics, the frustration at the situation and at the cat came with the onset of itchy eyes, an itchy palette, stuffy nose and irritated skin. Forgiving the Kitty for his innocent curiosity and chewing tendencies helped resolve all the symptoms.
Over the course of my week-long stay, I spent a lot of time with the cat while my friend was away at work. I played with him, cuddled with him, fed him, and had some good chats with him. I even posted a few comments on the message boards about my progress in resolving the allergies while the Kitty-Kat was purring away in my lap. It was a fantastic experience.
During the week I also intuitively came to recall some factors which probably contributed to my programming. An image of a horrible animated rendition of '
The Cat Came Back the Very Next Day' kept coming to mind. The version that I remember seeing when I was young had a very ugly, smelly old cat that just wouldn't leave its owner alone. It reminded me of a number of cats I had encountered in my life which didn't seem to enjoy the presence of people very much. Also, having been a 'dog person', I've had debates over the years with cat-lovers, over which animal makes a better pet. Unfortunately, it's easy to recall that I've reinforced my belief in the awesomeness of dogs as pets by making cats out to be 'bad'. Remember: to love chocolate, you don't have to hate vanilla! I'm finding that with an open heart, vanilla is actually quite a perfect expression of that which it is! quite enjoyable and pleasant in the right context!
Anyhow, in conclusion, my last two days spent there were totally symptom free. The allergy had been canceled, and little August and I became very good friends. I look forward to meeting him again!
In Peace,
-Rob
