The price

Mahatma Gandhi says, "God demands nothing less than complete self-surrender as the price for the only freedom that is worth having". To surrender oneself entirely means that the individual that one "knows" oneself to be will not be there when the great prize comes in. The prize is freedom from the limitations from the ego, but the ego can no longer be there to enjoy its own freedom. This is God's great play: The one who signs up for the spiritual journey does not get to complete it.

Falling away

The event of May 15, 2010 appears to not be a satori but a new phase of development that continues to deepen. There is no longer a self that has to be worked for. If you haven't been to a Hawkins event yet, there is a "Travel to Lecture/Satsang" group that you are welcome to join. It is a good place to get information about activities in the Sedona area. The Devotional Center also has a group page here, and some students make a point of attending the classes there during the week while they are in town for an event.

At the lectures there will be many people who have had the same type of experiences that you have described-as they are failry common among spiritual aspirants. Of course many people do not share them at all, and some with only one or two friends, so it tends to give the false impression that such experiences are rare. Lori Tushek (who also has a page here) has started a website that has a forum for people to share and discuss their experiences with Kundalini energy that you might also be interested in checking out.
