On Tuesday evening while on the way to a weekly meditation, I decided to stop at St. Francis of Assisi Church. There I was able to sit and pray, enfolded within the silence of the magnificent structure.

After continuing on my walk, the memory arose of Dr. Hawkins speaking about the importance of a teacher maintaining their integrity to the level at which they were experiencing it; and along with the memory came the realization that because every person secretly believes that theirs is the highest level of understanding (or 'consciousness' in the case of the students of Dr. Hawkins), that they might discount those teachings which are at a level that they do not comprehend. This would seem to be particularly true for those at a lower LOC examining/observing those at a higher LOC. Whereas this would seem to be less of an obstacle for those of a higher LOC examining the teachings of a lower LOC.

Francis is well known for the canticle: Brother Sun and Sister Moon; which set the stage for lesson 201: I trust my brothers, who are one with me. It then ties into the teachings of Dr. Hawkins who exhorts us to: "Trust your brother, but lock your door." As devotees of Truth, we want to avoid the trap that those ACIM students who are ignorant of the Map of Consciousness might possibly fall into, as they are unaware of the danger of mixing levels.

We surely would love all of creation, as all creation has a spark of Divinity within. Yet while we may love brother viper, and sister tiger, we do not embrace them. We accept that to honor the life that we have been blessed with, may at times require that we set boundaries between ourselves and those of our fellow creatures-who simply being what they are, would have the tendency to do us harm.

H S was calling me so strongly to share this with my fellow ACIM'ers. Perhaps it has to do with the "wolves in sheeps clothing" that Dr. Hawkins warned about in the 7/07 lecture we had studied the week of the satsang?

A friend of mine had a consultation with Dr. Sheldon Deal in Tucson (AZ) last week. You might like to read about him: http://www.etouchforhealth.com/community/sheldon_deal.html I don't know if he does consultations over the telephone the way Andrew Colyer does, but because of his affiliation with ICAK, he might be able to refer you to a chiropractor in your area who is experienced with Applied Kinesiology. The greatest advantage to using AK for diagnosis, is that it is so fast and totally non-invasive. Something that you might want to consider at some point.... Dr. Colyer does have two pages here at CP.net-a personal one (as he is also a student of Dr. Hawkins); and a group page for those interested in learning how to muscle test on their own. [Back to my friend.] Dr. Deal found that she had a hiatal hernia which he treated her for, and also gave her supplements for the anemia that she has due to a genetic condition. She said that she was pleased with him, as he confirmed through his own testing-many of the health issues that she already knew she had.

BTW-Speaking of issues with the digestive system, have you ever seen the lecture where Dr. Hawkins spoke about Margaret Chaney's book: Red World/Green World? It is based on the polarity of foods, and Dr. Hawkins sounded quite impressed with it.

Of course he also has spoken of many of his own illnesses being cured through acupuncture. I've had it myself for a variety of sports injuries, and also used it once for weight loss, and have had only great results!

Love,

Samantha

Hi Brinn:

Glad that you are up to spending time in the garden. Spring-time on the East Coast is so lush. Thank you for sharing the picture. What are the flowers called?

It isn't surprising really that there would be conflicting reports, because (from what I've read) not many physicians are adept diagnosticians any more. It seems (to me) that to be a good diagnostician, that one would have to be more "right-brain" oriented, whereas med school training emphasizes the "left-brain" approach.

An acquaintance was going to doctors for many years without finding out the reason for her extreme exhaustion and lethargy. It was not until she was three months into a coma that she had lapsed into, that one of the doctors thought to check her out for Addison's Disease! The steroids they administered brought her right out of the coma. After that, she was much more pro-active about her health and took herself to the Mayo Clinic for a complete work-up. Although she was found to have tumors on her pituitary and thyroid glands (all benign), there were none on her adrenals. So the endocrine system can be extremely complex-the way all those hormones and glands interact with one another.

After I was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis about 15 years ago, my surgeon referred me to one of the top specialists in the country. He had been lured to the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC from Stanford. I was impressed by how knowledgeable he was about the endocrine system and the process of osteoporosis. Prior to being seen by him, all the other doctors had always assured me that the steroids I needed to take for asthma-would not have any untoward side effects. Hah! Oh well...I did have to breathe in order to keep the body going, so it probably was a good idea at the time. *wink*

Hi Sweetie:

Although access to the Internet while in AZ was a bit limited, you were on my mind. Please PM with any news.
